Master of Science in Supply Chain Management
The College of Business has developed a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management degree in response to an emerging need among employers for an innovative approach to master’s-level education in the logistics field. The program differentiates itself from others by focusing on Lean Six Sigma and risk management. Companies have identified the need for risk management throughout their supply chains in the wake of recent global events such as COVID-19, the 2021 Suez Canal incident, and semiconductor scarcity.
The new program will be offered starting in July to meet a growing demand from new students, current students in the two bachelor’s degree programs in supply chain management, and employees of Bellevue University’s corporate partners. This new master’s degree prepares students to lead in a career field that is growing nationwide, as the number of supply chain manager positions is projected to grow 5-10% through 2030.
The Master of Science in Supply Chain Management draws on recommendations from professionals in the field to address the essential skills for supply chain managers. Those skills include strategic and tactical planning, maximizing efficiencies, forecasting demand, designing and implementing strategies, collaborating internally and externally, and considering the environment when making supply chain management decisions. With the new master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, the College of Business will directly impact what the Association for Supply Chain Management identifies as one of the industry’s most urgent issues, the development of supply chain talent.
